Bitton Road Runners Sodbury Slog - Nov 10th 2019

Charity Places

Our chosen charities now have exclusive charity places in the Sodbury Slog available! Secure your place in the Slog for £30 (£20 of this goes straight back to the charity as a donation!) and a minimum sponsorship pledge of £100 is all that’s required.

@ForeverFriendsAppeal is the charity of the Royal United Hospitals (RUH) Bath… As a local hospital serving Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire, the RUH touches the lives of over half a million people, whether as a patient or visiting a loved one. It’s where our babies are born, where our broken limbs are repaired, where we fight diseases, face the challenges of old age, learn to manage long-term conditions and so much more. Vital funds raised from the Sodbury Slog will help pay for extra special projects and state-of-the-art equipment (beyond the remit of the NHS) that will transform care for the hundreds of thousands of patients and families cared for each and every year. More details can be found of how to enter can be found here

@Jessiemaycharity is a Children’s Hospice at Home charity in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset and Wiltshire. Jessie May supports families that unfortunately get the devastating news that one or more of their children will not reach the age of 19. We provide nursing care, respite care and end of life care at home for babies and children, ensuring that families can stay together at home through the good days, bad days and last days. Jessie May nurses continue to support each family for 5 years after the child’s death with bereavement support in the families own home. Money raised through the Sodbury Slog helps us fund the nurses which make Jessie May so special and ensure that every family has the vital support they need when they need it.

Statement from RaceNation:

RaceNation would like to sincerely apologise to anyone who experienced issues when signing up for the Sodbury Slog on Monday.

We always plan ahead for high demand events to ensure they go as smoothly as possible, however due to the unprecedented amount of interest in this fantastic event (a 300% increase on last year) it took us a little bit longer to cater for the demand.

We also appreciate that some of you may have been unsuccessful in purchasing tickets and for that we can only apologise, although as with previous years there were only 1100 places available and subsequently there will always be those who are left disappointed.

Procedures have already been put in place to ensure our systems can handle such high demand to make the process as fair as possible for future events.

Our support team are working as hard as possible to resolve any existing queries regarding registrations, but should anyone require any further assistance please email us at

With your support the Slog raised over £15,000 for charity last year. A HUGE thank you from Bitton Road Runners. Let’s see if we can beat that figure this year.

Bitton Road Runners working with Chipping Sodbury Town Council and the Royal British Legion (Chipping Sodbury), are pleased to announce that the application to close the High St for the Remembrance Day Parade will be extended to enable runners to run up the High St on their run to the finish.

As in previous years the distance is 10 country miles. The course distance is not certified.

You are reminded that the Slog has a 2hrs 50min cut-off time.

Due to livestock grazing on the Common runners are reminded that the route is subject to minor change right up to Race day.
