What's it all about?
We are trying to raise teams for this. There are four races, you can enter as many as you like. We're not just looking for speed merchants, this is a team event and if we can't raise a team for a race we won’t count in the final league standings. Cross-country running is also an excellent way to improve strength and endurance through the winter
What's involved?
Men's races are approximately 10K in distance, Ladies courses are closer to 6K. The routes are usually around grassy (muddy if wet!) parkland. We meet at Warmley Station Car Park and car share.
What are the dates?
•Sat 9th October – Guiting Power
•Sat 20th November – Cheltenham
•Sat 11th December – Blackbridge, Gloucester
•Sat 5th February – Plock Court
The Rules
Team competition
Team categories are Senior Men(6 highest score), Male Vet 40+(4 highest score), Senior Female and Female Vet 35+(3 highest score). Team scoring is based on the completion of a team finishing in all 4 races.

Welsh Castles Relay Race - Sat/Sun 12th/13thJune 2010
210¼ miles of mountainous roads over 20 stages taking two days to complete starting in Caernarfon Castle and finishing in Cardiff Castle. This year Bitton fielded two teams, the mens running in the "Open" category and the ladies team in the "Ladies" category. Could this be the best ever result from this event? Bitton Open (mens) team finished in 14th position overall and 11th in the Open category, the ladies posting 50th overall and 4th in the Ladies category. Both teams making improvements in overall finishing times over previous years. A special mention must go to Sally Curnow and David Waters who both took on the challenge of the infamous Drovers mountain leg, an "UP" that is even steeper and longer than Beech! A good Bitton effort not only for racing but for support and team camaraderie. Well done team captains, well done team runners, well done Bitton Road Runners!

Bitton Grand Prix
"I would just like to say a big thank you and well done to all those, who have taken the time to help organise, run and participate in the first BRR's Grand Prix event! The day was excellent, aided by the glorious weather, (even though I have comedy tan marks now). The fun environment in which it was conducted, still allowed for serious healthy competition in children and adults alike and allowed families to "have a go" without anyone looking silly, feeling left out or a loser. Everyone who took part on Saturday was a winner. This is exactly what our club is all about! Once again thank you and well done!"

Footprint Quiz
There was an overwhelming amount of entries and the winners have been selected. Now, due to the modern wonders of e-mail the first two entries from the senior club were received at the same time so we have had no option than to declare joint winners: Well done Joan Gibson and Terry Kirby. Jess Webb was the first to return 21 correct names from the Junior Club.
Please see Steph Evans for your prizes.
