Return to running

Dear Members,

The committee and coaches have been working hard to bring Bitton Road Runners back as soon and as safely as possible.

Working within England Athletics (EA) and the Government guidelines, we are pleased to announce our plans for making it happen.

Initially all sessions will be coached and will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm.  Unless the guidelines change the first session back will be Thursday 6th August.

Until as a Club we achieve Covid Secure Environment status, as defined by EA, there will be a limit of 5 runners plus coach per group.

Initially sessions will start from 4 locations away from our Club House. 50p subs will be collected at the start location by the coach. Correct money only please:

NB. Yate Track is a Covid Secure Environment as defined by England Athletics.

All sessions will need to be booked in advance via an online booking system which is currently being implemented and will only be available to club members. Places in each group will be on a first come, first served basis. We will announce via social media and our web site when the booking system is up and running. Access to the booking system will be via our Web site only.

The booking system will ensure that as a club we fulfil our responsibilities regarding the Governments Track and Trace System. All current Government and EA guidelines must be observed including keeping a 2 mtr distance. Our Club routes are being reviewed to minimise Covid Risks.

Runners who attend on the night without pre-registering will not be able to partake in the session.

Sorry, but currently we are only able to offer sessions to members 18yrs and over.

Runners and coaches should comply with all public health restrictions and avoid high risk behaviour outside the Club setting to reduce the risk to their fellow runners when they do attend a club session or venue.

Runners should arrive at the start venue ready to run and leave as soon as the session is complete.

All runners must bring their own bottle of hand sanitiser and water. Car keys are your responsibility and are not to be left with others or at the start location.

Toilet facilities will not be available at any location.

The sessions on 6th 10th & 11th August are pilot sessions and we will welcome feedback.

Finally, we appreciate that some of you may not feel ready to recommence running in groups of any size. We fully understand and look forward to welcoming you back when you feel the time is right.

If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to a member of the committee.

Take Care
