JANUARY RACE ROUND UP

It has been a challenging month of winter racing, but Bitton runners once again showed determination and commitment across road, trail and endurance events, braving cold and difficult conditions while proudly representing the blue and yellow.

Weston Prom 5 Miler

On a cold January evening in Weston, Bitton runners delivered some strong performances.

Chris Whiteford was first home for the club, recording an excellent PB of 35:21. He was followed by Ashley Risdale in 37:41.
Helen Owen was first Bitton lady home, also finishing in 37:41, with Emma Taylor close behind in 41:38.
Shaun Scammell (44:13), Pete Clark (44:13) and Tracy Ward (46:57) also completed the race in testing conditions.

Riverbank Rollick

Emily Baker led the club home with a strong run, finishing in 1:24:53.
Carlton Hobbs followed in 1:27:28.
Bryan “Trail Legend” Stadden completed the course in 1:33:53, with Mike Duggan finishing in 1:37:18 after a close sprint finish with Chloe Parsons, who crossed the line in 1:37:36.

Speedway 10K

Bitton’s speedsters were out in force, with impressive performances from both runners.

Alfie Brown finished in 37:03.
Nick Stopard followed with a strong run of 38:57.

Trail and Ultra Events

Calum Thompson completed the demanding Pagan Trail Half Marathon in 2:58:53.
Kev Mowat took on the brutal Arc of Attrition 25, finishing in 6:20:46 and claiming 1st MV65, an outstanding achievement.

Chepstow Running Festival Half Marathon
Chloe Parsons began her marathon training in earnest, completing the half marathon in 1:44:07.

Lliswerry 8 Miler

Andy Blacker ran a solid race to finish in 1:01:43 in this popular local event.

Longleat 10

The month concluded with three Bitton runners competing at the Longleat 10.

Daniel Haggett was first home for the club in 1:01:08.
Patricia Haggett followed closely in 1:04:12.
Leanne Martin completed the course in 1:08:00.
